Scenic Painting

With a background teaching Acrylic Painting to adults Sabrina has always connected to paint as a medium, whether on faces, or costume renderings or on the floors and walls of a theatre! Their knowledge of color theory, texture, and surface techniques and experience with fine detail work, spray prevals, and fabric dye bolster their scenic painting toolkit.

Scenic Charge Work at AADA for Polaroid Stories

Polaroid Stories

As the Scenic Charge at American Academy of Dramatic Arts Sabrina created samples for the various concrete textures of this set for Polaroid Stories, designed and built by CJ Howard with help from Lyle Greene. With a dynamic concrete floor treatment and distressed poured concrete walls the atmosphere was layered up until the custom Graffiti brought it all to life. Sabrina's experience with Spray Prevals and detailed brushwork helped to create the final effect.

With 56 sponged panels in varying shades of grey to black the set of She Kills Monsters designed and built by CJ Howard with help from Lyle Greene is brought to life by the lights as shown here. Also painted for the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

She Kills Monsters

All Eight

For the premiere of the new script All Eight by Lilly Camp at American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Sabrina sampled a wave texture like the surface of a lake to paint across the floor. With a black background they layered up natural brushstrokes in two shades of blue glaze before coating the more defined shapes in a loose lightly tinted topcoat. The set was designed and built by CJ Howard.

Wyvern Mural

Sabrina has also exercised their painting abilities with mural making. This piece was created with acrylic paint, detail brushes and sponges. Sabrina focused on the gradients of color and how it fades from light to dark to create a character that nearly flys off the wall!
